Dans l'Église orthodoxe et les Églises orientales catholiques qui suivent le rite byzantin, la '''Synaxe''' (en grec: ''Σύναξις''; slaves: ''Собор'', Sobor) est le nom donné aux réunions des chrétiens à des fins liturgiques, généralement à travers la célébration des [[Vêpres]], [[Matines]], [[Petites Heures]] et la [[Divine Liturgie]].
==Jours de fête==
A [[Constantinople]], le clergé et les fidèles se réunissent souvent ensemble à l'église lors de [[jours de fête|feast day]] spécifiques dédiés au saint du jour pour des célébrations liturgiques. Ces assemblées sont appelées ''synaxes''. Ces synaxes ont des offices propres. Une synaxe a souvent lieu lors des jours suivant une [[Grande Fête|Major Feast Day]], en l'honneur des saints qui ont participé à l'événement célébré lors de la fête. Par exemple, le jour suivant la fête [[Theophany]] (la révélation of the [[Trinité]] lors du [[Baptême de Jésus]] dans la rivière du Jourdain), une Synaxe sera observée en l'honneur de [[Jean Baptiste]].
Le terme de synaxe peut aussi faire référence à une commémoration commune d'un certain nombre de saints dans un seul office, comme la Synaxe des Soixante-dix Apôtres. Chacun des saints peut avoir son propre jour de fête et être célébrés ensemble dans une synaxe.
La plupart des synaxes sont célébrées à des [[cycle annuel fixe|jours fixes]], soit à la même date, soit le dimanche le plus proche d'une certaine date. D'autres synaxes sont célébrées en fonction du [[cycle annuel mobile]] (aussi appelé cycle pascal).
